Meet Dr. Osada
Dr. Akihiko Osada grew up in the Midwest. He attended the University of Michigan, where he majored in neuroscience with a minor in music. Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Osada attended the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Following dental school, Dr. Osada completed a two-year General Practice Residency at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City, where he was trained to manage medically compromised patients. During his second year, he was selected to serve as chief resident. He then decided to give back to the community by working as a general dentist at a non-profit community health center in the Bronx for three years. During this time, he discovered his passion for endodontics and decided to pursue a Postgraduate Endodontic Specialty Residency at UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry. Dr. Osada won first place in the Postdoctoral Oral Competition for his research, “Mechanisms of Stem-Cell Induced Analgesia,” at the Research & Clinical Symposium in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Osada is an active member of the American Association of Endodontics. His top priority is to provide the most up-to-date technology and techniques to ensure the best quality of care and most comfortable environment for his patients.
Outside the Office
Dr. Osada is committed to providing care to underserved communities through dental outreach programs, including Remote Access Medical (RAM) and Buffalo Outreach and Community Assistance (BOCA). He has attended multiple dental mission trips to Puerto Plata and Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, as well as rural regions in Tennessee.
Dr. Osada is very energetic and spends much of his time swimming and exercising. He swims competitively at the U.S. Masters Swimming (USMS) level, and he also enjoys playing basketball and running half-marathon and 5K races. When he is not working or exercising, Dr. Osada enjoys exploring new restaurants, watching sports, attending live music, cooking, and playing guitar.
